A house on Vintner Drive has more roofline facing the street than most two-story homes down in the valley. That’s what happens when you put a wide single-story ranch plan on a third of an acre or better. It also makes Zinfandel Ridge Christmas light installation a bigger ladder job than it looks from the driveway. We’re Xmas Light Brothers, we’re based here in Plymouth, and we’d be glad to do the climbing. The number is (209) 444-1844.
Long rooflines and tile
The homes on Zinfandel Parkway, Vintner Drive and Sommelier Drive were built between 2019 and 2023. Farmhouse fronts, contemporary fronts and a Western Ranch plan. Single-story, with tile roofs and a lot of frontage.
Tile is not something you walk on, and we don’t. Roofline lights go up on clips at the gutter and fascia, set from a ladder that moves down the eave a few steps at a time. It’s slow, steady work, which suits us fine. Nothing gets nailed, stapled or drilled into the trim. On a long, low house the trick is keeping the line dead level across the garage, the entry and the bedroom wing, because the eye follows it end to end. Gables and peaks get traced too if you’d like the shape of the house to show after dark. Our installation page has more on how the roofline goes up.
Young yards, and what to light in them
Landscaping up here is still filling in. That affects what’s worth doing:
- Tree wraps. A trunk needs some girth before a wrap looks right. If your front tree is still on the slim side, we’ll say so, and maybe wrap just the trunk and lower limbs.
- Stake lighting. With this much lawn edge and driveway, stakes do a lot of the work. Listings up here show automatic sprinklers front and back, so tell us where the heads are, or run the system once before we arrive so the wet spots show. The stake lighting page covers the rest.
- Pillar wraps. Where a farmhouse porch has posts, we wrap them evenly, with the cord hidden behind, and they pull the entry forward on a wide facade.
- Lit wreaths and lit garland. Hang one wreath high on the garage gable and run garland around the door or along a porch rail. Together they fill in the middle of the house, where a roofline alone can leave a dark patch.
The view works both ways
Some of these lots sit on hilltop parcels looking out over the rolling hills toward the Shenandoah Valley. Nice in the daytime. At night it means your house can be picked out from a long way off, including the sides and back. So on a corner or a court lot, Zinfandel Ridge Christmas light installation can mean more than the street face. Mention it when you send photos, or ring (209) 444-1844, and we’ll hash out which sides are worth it.
The HOA at Zinfandel Ridge and Christmas lights
Zinfandel Ridge does have a homeowners association with monthly dues, in both the original phase and Zinfandel Ridge II. We looked for its name and its rules and didn’t find either one posted publicly, so we’re not going to pass along dates we can’t back up. Check your own CC&Rs, then ring (209) 444-1844 with whatever display period they set. We schedule the install inside it and come back in January so everything is down on time. Clips only, tidy cords, and timers that turn the lights off late at night are the kind of things associations tend to appreciate anyway.
Zinfandel Ridge Christmas light installation by a Plymouth crew
Pricing is a phone conversation, helped along by whatever photos you can email or text over, so nobody needs to schedule anything at the house. Phone (209) 444-1844, or send pictures through the contact page. We bring the lights, hang them, service them if a strand goes out, and haul them off in January.
We also light homes in Castle Oaks in Ione and the shops and cottages of downtown Sutter Creek. But this is the home street. Plymouth’s best-known display street is Mill Street, off Highway 49 in the old part of town. There’s no reason the newer side can’t give it some competition.
Zinfandel Ridge questions we get
What do the Zinfandel Ridge CC&Rs say about lights?
We don’t know. There is an HOA, but we could not find its name or rules online. Check your CC&Rs for any display period. Our install date and our January removal both get set to fit it.
Is Zinfandel Ridge Christmas light installation harder on a tile roof this long?
Longer, not harder. Nobody steps on the tile. The lights clip to the gutter and fascia from a ladder set below the gutter, and the ladder gets moved a lot.
What about my sprinkler heads and the stake lights?
We place stakes clear of the heads. It helps if you point them out in your photos or run the system before we arrive.
A strand on Zinfandel Parkway goes out in mid-December. Then what?
Call us. Zinfandel Parkway is close to our base in Plymouth, so a fix is a short trip.
