Just about everybody in Amador County ends up in Martell sooner or later. It’s where 49 and 88 run together for a stretch, where you go for groceries and hardware, and where a whole lot of holiday shoppers pull in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If your business sits on that corridor, a lit building gets seen by everybody waiting at that light. That’s the bulk of the Martell Christmas light installation work we do, though we light plenty of homes out here too. Call (209) 444-1844 and you’ll have a price on that call.
Shops and offices along the highway
The retail centers off Martell Road get a lot of eyes from both highways. For a strip of storefronts, a straight clean roofline in one color does more than a busy mix of everything. We run lights along the parapet or fascia, wrap the columns out front, and hang lit wreaths over the entries so the doors stand out after dark.
The business and industrial buildings on the old mill ground behind the shopping centers are a different kind of property: bigger buildings, plainer walls, more industrial. There we usually focus on the entrance, the sign area, and the office end of the building rather than trying to outline a warehouse. It’s a better use of lights, and it looks intentional.
Commercial jobs are all about timing and power. We plan runs around the outlets you actually have, keep cords out of parking lots and walkways, and set timers that match your hours. If you manage a property with several tenants, we’re glad to work with one point of contact. More on that on our business lighting page.
Martell Christmas light installation for homes
Martell itself is small, but the homes around it cover a lot of ground.
Jackson Gate Road winds from Martell down toward Jackson past some of the county’s oldest mining history. Houses along there sit on hillsides and older lots, often with mature oaks. We wrap those trunks and the lower branches, and a couple of lit oaks along a winding drive look terrific from the road.
Sutter Hill, right next door, has a lot of homes close to 49, and plenty of the folks there drive it to work in the dark. We set those timers to the commute, on before you leave in the morning if you like and on again at dusk, and we clip the lights to the gutters or under the shingle edges so nothing goes into the trim.
North toward Sutter Creek, the houses near the Martell line are mostly on regular lots, so a roofline and a lit walk are the usual job. Out Airport Road toward Westover Field, and farther west toward Ione, lots open up and you get more room for stake lighting along the drive and walkway. We check for sprinkler heads first, set the stakes firm in that red clay, and space them so a mower or truck tire won’t catch them.
The whole list, or just the roof
Rooflines, wrapped trees, wrapped pillars, stake lights along the drive, lit wreaths, and lit garland on rails and entries. Some folks want the whole package. Others just want the roof and a wreath. Either way, we bring the lights and do all the ladder work, so you aren’t buying strands or testing bulbs on the kitchen table.
Storm damage, fixes, and January
Should a December storm knock a section out, call (209) 444-1844 and we’ll be back out to fix it. In January our crew heads back out and pulls down every light, so nothing stays on the building into spring and you never store a box of lights.
We’re in Martell constantly this time of year because it sits between our other stops in Jackson, Sutter Creek, and Ione.

Call (209) 444-1844 with the address and a rough idea of what you want lit. Most of the time we can quote it right then. If you manage a center, a couple of photos of the frontage through our contact page gets us most of the way there.
