Out here your nearest neighbor might be two vacant lots away, and the house sits well back off the road. Lights that look great on a town cul-de-sac can vanish on an acre. Lake Camanche Village Christmas light installation comes down to being seen from a distance, and that takes a different plan. Xmas Light Brothers works this side of Ione through the season.
Lighting an acre so it shows from Village Drive
The subdivision was recorded in 1970 and it’s still filling in, with new ranch homes going up beside places that have stood for decades. Lots run about an acre in open oak grassland. The original restrictions called for single-story houses and a deep front setback, so most rooflines are low, long and a good way from the pavement.
That shapes the job in a few ways.
Start at the road
Your driveway entry and ranch fencing are the natural light lines on a big lot. Stake lighting down both sides of the driveway leads the eye in. Lit garland or a lit wreath on a gate or entry post tells people where the place begins. Whether power can reach the road depends on where your outlets are. Show us in your photos or tell us at (209) 444-1844, and we’ll be straight about what’s practical.
Then the house
Roofline lights along the full front eave give a set-back house an outline you can read from the street. A composition roof takes a clip that tucks beneath the shingle edge, or one that holds to the gutter. Tile gets gutter and fascia clips only. Either way there are no nails or staples, and nothing is drilled. If the porch has posts, they get pillar wraps, and the front door gets garland or a wreath so there’s a bright spot at the middle of the house.
Then one good tree
If there’s an oak near the house, wrapping its trunk and main limbs does more on open ground than a dozen small things scattered around the yard. Tree wraps go on by tension alone, with nothing fastened into the bark.
What the association’s documents say (and don’t)
The neighborhood is run by the Lake Camanche Village Association, the volunteer board often called LCVOA. Its recorded restrictions and its governing documents booklet are posted on the association website. They cover building approval, setbacks, antennas, trash, nuisances and lot upkeep. They don’t contain a holiday decoration or lighting clause, and no dates are given for when lights may go up or must come down.
So there’s no display period to plan around here. The closest thing is a general nuisance clause, and plain good manners handle that: a timer so the lights go dark late at night, and cords kept neat. Documents can change, so if you’ve had a recent notice from the office, go by that and pass it along on the call to (209) 444-1844.
We still take everything down in January. Not because a rule says so, but because nobody wants strands baking on the eave when weed abatement season rolls around.
Lake Camanche Village Christmas light installation without a drive-out estimate
We don’t drive out to estimate. Text or email pictures of the house from the road, the driveway entry, and any tree or fence line you have in mind, then call (209) 444-1844. If you’d rather not text, attach them to a note on the contact form. We’ll tell you what we’d light and what we’d skip. We bring every strand and cord, set the timers, and come back if something quits working.
We’re in Plymouth, and the drive down past Ione is one we make plenty. For a house in town, see our Ione Christmas lights page. Golf course folks can check the Castle Oaks page.
The streets people already drive
The Ledger Dispatch’s 2023 holiday guide called out displays on Lakeview Drive, Coyote Drive and Teepee Court, just off Village Drive, as worth the trip. If you live near those, the guide is already sending people your way. If you’re over by Papoose Park or out along Camanche Parkway North, you might be the one who gives them a reason to keep going.
Lake Camanche Village questions we get
Does the Lake Camanche Village Association restrict Christmas lights?
Its posted CC&Rs and governing documents have no holiday lighting rule and set no dates. There is a general nuisance clause, so we use timers and keep things tidy.
My house sits far back from the road. Will anyone see the lights?
Yes, if the plan fits the lot. We light the driveway entry, the full front roofline and one strong tree so the display reads from the street.
Does Lake Camanche Village Christmas light installation cover the driveway and fence, or just the house?
It can cover all three. The driveway and fence line depend on where power is available, so show us your outlets and the driveway in photos and we’ll say plainly what will work.
Do you install on composition shingle roofs?
Yes. We use clips made for shingle edges and gutters, with no nails or staples.
